Decorative Pillows and Handcrafted Home Textiles
Gülipek Hamit Fırat — Grand Bazaar, Istanbul — Est. 1968
Our home textile collection brings the same materials and craft approaches found in our scarves and jackets into cushions, decorative pillows, and textile pieces for interior use. The Ikat and Suzani traditions that shape our wearable collections are equally present here — in pattern, embroidery, and surface work.
Ikat and Suzani Influences
Many of our home textiles draw on Ikat-patterned fabrics and Suzani embroidery — traditions that developed across Central Asia and Anatolia and are produced in Türkiye using long-practised techniques. The characteristic patterns, dense embroidery, and considered colour work of these traditions translate well into cushion covers, decorative pieces, and small furnishing textiles.
Materials and Surface Work
Home textiles in our collection include Ikat-woven fabric, embroidered Suzani pieces, and cushion covers worked in a range of materials. Each piece is selected for the quality of its material, the consistency of its surface work, and the suitability of its construction for regular domestic use.
These are pieces that work in a range of interior settings — neither decorative objects in isolation nor purely functional items. They carry the weight and texture of hand-produced textiles and are intended to be used. To learn more about Ikat and Suzani techniques, see our Ikat and Suzani collection page.
Selection and availability vary by location. If you are looking for a particular piece, please contact us before your visit. Open Monday to Saturday, 09:00–19:00.

VISITOR QUESTIONS
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I care for an Ikat or Suzani cushion cover?
Most cushion covers in our collection should be hand-washed in cool water with a mild detergent, then laid flat to dry. Heavily embroidered Suzani pieces are best dry-cleaned to protect the embroidery threads and base fabric. Avoid wringing or tumble-drying.
Where are your home textiles sourced from?
Our Ikat and Suzani pieces are sourced from producers in Türkiye working in long-established regional traditions. Ikat fabrics are woven using resist-dye techniques developed across Central Asia and Anatolia; Suzani embroidery follows patterns passed down through generations of artisan workshops.
Can cushion covers be made in a custom size or colour?
We do not offer bespoke production through the store, but we carry a broad range of sizes and colourways across our collection at any given time. If you have a specific requirement, please contact us before your visit — we are happy to let you know what is currently available.
Do you ship home textiles internationally?
We sell exclusively in person at our Grand Bazaar stores. Cushion covers and flat textile pieces pack and travel well, and many of our visitors carry pieces home without difficulty. For enquiries about specific items, please reach us at info@gulipekhamitfirat.com or via WhatsApp.
Are these pieces suitable for everyday use, or purely decorative?
Both. Our home textiles are selected for quality of construction as well as surface work, and they are intended to be used — as cushion covers, decorative throws, and furnishing pieces in regular domestic settings. They are not fragile objects.
