Handcrafted Ikat, Cashmere and Velvet Jackets
Gülipek Hamit Fırat — Grand Bazaar, Istanbul — Est. 1968
Our handcrafted jacket collection brings together Ikat, cashmere and velvet in distinctive, small-scale pieces made in Türkiye. Variations in pattern, surface and construction are part of the individual character of each jacket.
Each jacket is selected for the quality of its material, the consistency of its craft, and the distinctiveness of its design. No two pieces are entirely alike. Whether Ikat-patterned, finished in cashmere, or crafted from velvet, these are pieces made with care and intended to last.
Ikat Jackets
Ikat is a patterning technique in which threads are resist-dyed before weaving, creating the characteristic soft-edged designs that mark the fabric. Our Ikat jackets draw on this tradition and are produced in Türkiye using long-practised techniques. To learn more about Ikat, see our Ikat and Suzani textiles page.
Cashmere and Velvet
Cashmere and velvet jackets in the collection share the same attention to construction as our Ikat pieces — the materials differ, but the approach is consistent. These are considered, unhurried garments built for repeated wear.
Made in Türkiye
All jackets in our collection are produced in Türkiye using long-practised textile and craft techniques. To learn more about our materials and the craft behind our collections, visit Our Craft.
