Our kaftans are singular textile heirlooms, approximately 80–100 years old. Collected years ago from dowry chests across Anatolia, each piece is made on velvet and finished by hand with intricate sırma embroidery. No two are alike; variations in surface, colour and patina are part of each garment's individual history.
A tradition worked in metal and velvet
In Ottoman and Anatolian ceremonial dress, related bindallı and dival traditions used metal-wrapped threads laid over velvet and secured by couching, often forming stylised floral and scrolling motifs. These garments were closely associated with weddings and other special occasions.
